Nintendo invites you to a tropical escape with Wii Sports Resort

Nintendo is inviting everyone to kick back and transform their living rooms into a tropical island adventure with the Wii Sports Resort video game. The game introduces a new era of motion controls with 12 resort-themed sports enhanced by the included Wii MotionPlus accessory.

The 12 sports (archery, basketball, bowling, golf, table tennis, Swordplay, Air Sports, canoeing, cycling, Frisbee, Power Cruising and wakeboarding) allow players to use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers in different ways. (The resort was full so I was not able to try any of the games. If they send me a copy I’ll be glad to play it… and return it afterwards.)

To celebrate its launch, Nintendo converted Times Square’s military island into a resort in itself. We have some pics here as we roamed the island. The game goes on sale nationwide on July 26.
